I’ve been using google plus for a while now and have learned so much from how it affects my rankings in google search to the importance of communication between bloggers in the general news feed and communities.
This post has taken me a few weeks to write by having a draft open while I use Google Plus and writing the down tips as I go. I have tried to keep it short.
Posting to G+
Format your posts to gain views and interactions – A post with a picture is preferred to a link drop, write something engaging for your audience.
Use the *_- to impact your posts with *bold* _italics_ and –
Use the #tag to tell google what you are talking about and make your content searchable to your niche.
Don’t email (annoying) all your posts to your circles, the only time I find an email acceptable is if there is a massive news event I really need to know about. Like the time I mailed my one circle that Melissa Taylor’s Pinterest Savvy was free for the day. Seriously an awesome ebook.
Always share in “public” as these are seen by all and google index as well.
Circling interesting people
Visit your “people” option from the pop out menu to the left. Google+ suggests many people you might have in common. Add people slowly and with purpose, you are only allowed to follow 5000 in total. Make them interesting and worth while building a relationship with.
Visit this post I just made and add the circle of interesting people to follow to get you started.

Interaction on G+
Interaction on G+ is one of the many key elements. Here is how it currently flows. You make a post, “Jane” +1’s it, this shows google that your post is indeed something someone liked to see, score brownie points. Jane then comments on your post, even more points because the post is now engaging. The same goes for when some one tags you in a comment, it adds credibility.
Interacting on peoples posts that are in your niche also brings credibility to you that you have klout towards the topic.
I have even had a blog post rank 2 or 3 places below my G+ post for the exact same blog post on a google search! Using G+ in my everyday blogging interactions has certainly increased the rankings and visability for my blogs.
Get yourself setup, fill out your about us, add your links and claim your authorship. Add the Google+ Widget in your sidebar to encourage circling.
Did you know
Did you know that when logged into your Google Account Google shows you items from your own and your circles +1 selection first? You are able to switch between the two in the upper right area of the google search window.
