Wait! I am not there yet! As you read this it is mid January.
In December I started thinking about that I wanted from the new year for my blog and my progress forward. The previous year had been good to my little blog and the blog was able to purchase me a better camera and with Nov and Dec income I am about to order myself a new imac. I am not trying to brag here just lay out the facts.
You see putting the funds back into my blog to grow it more is important and if this means that I get a new camera and an imac then so be it!
December was also the time that I completed my blog planner and sent it off to be printed.
Step 1. Organize yourself & create realistic goals. check.
Now I know that getting to this HUGE goal is going to be work. LOTS and LOTS of work. Here are my thoughts on what I would need to grow this year and reach my 1 million page views per month by December.
Friends / Networking
Networking is a big part of blogging, without a great support group it is going to be tough. Find like minded people and form a tribe. Help each other. Share with each other. Become BEST BLOG Friends! These people are also going to be great for your accountability. (Needs friends? Check the learn to blog form!)
Step 2. Form a tribe or join one. check.
Without things for people to come read you are going to have nothing to bring visitors in with. That being said, rather go for quality over quantity. If people find value in your posts they will subscribe to your blog and become return readers and loyal followers. We want these people.
Assess what you write about. What are the “keywords” that you often target. What message are you trying to bring?
Step 3. Find your niche, keyword plan. check.
If you don’t have a passion for what you are writing about then it will show in your posts. Think about this as it ties into the above content and keywords. You need to love what you do.
Step 4. Think hard about why I have a blog and make sure my passion is actually aligning to it. check.
This is most likely the biggest hurdle people are stuck on. In my first year of blogging I read a few articles a day on how to do this and that and xyz. My second year not so much. Which was a big mistake! Always, ALWAYS, be on the quest for knowledge.
Step 5. Start learning again. check.
While blogging this journey of mine I am going to share all the things I try and learn, STICK AROUND!
